To book a PET/CT or CT scan at INITIO you must be referred by a physician. Your physician must complete a requisition form and submit it to us along with any previous imaging reports. Once we receive it, our staff will contact you to obtain your detailed medical history and review the procedure with you. Our physician will then take 1-2 days to review the request and information to ensure that this scan is appropriate. Please note that we are unable to offer scans for persons who are asymptomatic or otherwise healthy, i.e. screening healthy people to establish the presence of disease.
Upon approval, an appointment will usually be set within 1 week.
If you need to make arrangements for accommodations at the time of your scan, we are happy to assist.

A PET/CT procedure or PET scan is a complex process that requires comprehensive and sophisticated equipment and highly trained professionals, including a nuclear medicine physician, a radiologist, nuclear chemists,
cyclotron (isotope generator) operators, and nuclear medicine technologists.
The imaging is performed in our facility with a specialized scanner, using powerful computers and state-of-the-art software that combines Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computed Tomography (CT) to produce concurrent functional and anatomic images critical to diagnosing and staging many diseases, including cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.
Our equipment is monitored around the clock and routinely upgraded, and our dedicated, qualified, and experienced staff are committed to providing the highest level of service at a fair and consistent price.
Our clinic is welcoming and designed for patient comfort. Focused on individualized patient needs and care, we offer a private, comfortable room in which patients can receive their radioisotope injection and relax while preparing for their scan. We welcome family and friends to accompany you to the clinic.
